The Tanabata Festival

I was at Shibuya yesterday morning.
I found some people were decorating for the Tanabata Star Festival.
The Tanabata Star Festival is a kind of event which is said to be a combination of Chinese tradition with beliefs peculiar to Japan.
July 7th is the day of Tanabata in Japan.
On the day,we write our wishes on colouful stripes of paper and hang them on bamboo branches.
I don't remember the detail of the legend about the festival.
As I recall,it's based on a legend about a couple separated by the Milky way....
Anyway I'm gonna write tons of wishes on stripes of paper and hang them on somewhere. Haha...

I love Chips.☆

Do you like potato chips?
I'm loving it!
It makes a good combination with soda,cola,beer...
Usually it's high in calories, but mine is an exception.
'Cos I make it by myself with a special kit without oil.
I've been using the kit for 1 year.
The kit is bloody nice!!
You can make potato chips as long as you have microwave.
You can enjoy health,non-fatty snacks.

Fuwa-fuwa-cake

Do you recognize what I'm holding in the first pic above?
It's not an egg.
It's a kind of cake.
This is called "Fuwa-Fuwa-Cake."
It's marshmallows in oval shape, and yellow bean paste is inside of it.
The yellow makes beautiful contrast with the white marshmallow.
It looks like a real egg, doesn't it?
The rich taste of this cake makes it a
delicious counterpart to coffee, tea, green tea,milk...
whatever you want!
So it's perfect for your afternoon tea time.
I'm getting addicted to it!

Okamoto-Minka-En. 岡本民家園

I went to "Okamoto-Minka-En"(岡本民家園)
It's a kinda park that made use of natural woods.
There's an old traditional Japanese farmer's house with thatched roof.
It was built at the end of the Edo period.
So,it's really really old.
You can come into the great house from the earth floor (土間).
You can relax over a cup of tea at the fireplace(囲炉裏).
You'll be able to see some old gadgets and agricultural implements.

It makes you forget the chaos of the city.

The brand-named pylons.

When I was walking in Shibuya,
I found a lane that I've never passed through.
I turned off into the lane.
This area is a kind of an exclusive residential district.
There're many mansions.
(I mean,not Japanese マンション,I mean 豪邸.)
I found an especially luxurious mansion
that was decorated with white and gold.
There were some
special pylons in front of the mansion.
What's special about it?
The pylons have CHANEL logotype.
WOW!!

Taj Mahal

It's getting hotter and hotter.
On a hot day like this Indian curry sure hits the spot.

This is my favourite Indian curry restaurant called "Taj Mahal."

They have some set lunch menus.
I always order B-lunch.
It's the most popular set menu at the place.
You can have 2 kinds of curries, tandoori chicken, salad,
naan bread or rice, and coffee or lassi for 980 yen.
You can enjoy authentic Indian food at a reasonable price.

I always have seafood curry and vegetable curry with naan bread.
They serve enormous naan bread.
You'll be able to full up to the throat.

You can enjoy Indian music and movies on the big video screen.

Akihabara

Have you ever been to Akihabara?
It 's also known as Akihabara Electric Town (Akihabara Denki Gai).
It's an area around Akihabara Station,
part of Chiyoda-ku and Taitho-ku.
It's nicknamed "Akiba".
There are hundreds of shops that sell electrical appliances,
computer equipments and anime goods.
There are still tons of Maid cafes.
It has become almost a sacred place
for people who are called "Otaku" or "Nerd".
It is now a world famous tourist attraction.

Today I saw lots of maids and a Gokuu.
Gokuu?
Yep, you'll find many cosplayers.
So, there're tons of shops that sell costumes for cosplay.
You can enjoy seeing them while you're shopping!

Oh, I almost forgot!
If you're a smoker,be careful!!
You need to find a smoking place.
'Cos in 2002, Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward introduced fines
on smoking in the street.

Samourai-no-pudding 侍のプリン

Do you like custard pudding?
I'm loving it!!
This is my favourite custard pudding called Samourai-no-pudding.
(侍のプリン)

Samourai-no-pudding would have been a good name for it.
'Cos it's very rich but not greasy.
The moderate sweetness of this pudding is satisfactory
in both taste and amount.
Even men will like this slightly bitter caramel-filled pudding.

It features carefully selected ingredients gathered from Hokkaido.

I'm becoming ingrained as a habit!!ヾ(@⌒¬⌒@)ノ
